The right deals can take even more stress out of your vacation
Active Caribbean vacations work wonders on the body and mind. From seaside aerobics to seaweed body wraps, several island resorts are known for their artful combination of sports activity and sensuous spa services. Here are five resorts that specialize in spa or fitness vacations.

Finding great resort packages
Hide out at Enchanted Garden Resort and Spa (800-847-2535) in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, where hammocks are nestled beside cascading waterfalls or tucked behind a lily pond. The fitness and wellness program at this mountainside retreat includes guided power-walks, fitness and meditation classes, Tai-chi and a fully-equipped gym. Spa facilities and services include saunas, massages, Turkish baths, Swedish jet showers, aromatherapy, wraps and scrubs. Golf fees at a nearby course are $65 per person including transportation. Rates per person run from $125 for a junior suite to $195 for a three-bedroom suite, minimum of six persons, and include all meals, services and taxes.

Fitness-minded singles can bet on Bolongo Bay Beach Club and Villas (800- 5244746) in St. Thomas for a good workout and a chance meeting with locals. Membership at the Bayside Spa and Fitness Center adjacent to the resort is open to both guests of Bolongo and locals. The center offers aerobics, jazzercise, women’s weight-lifting and self-defense classes, as well as massages. the gym features 29 cardio-fitness and resistance machines, plus a separate free-weight room.

On the resort property, there are regularly scheduled volleyball games, two tennis courts, two basketball courts, a typical range of watersports and two swimming pools. All-inclusive packages at this recently refurbished property include meals and facilities, an all-day sail to St. John, and an introductory scuba lesson. Prices start at $1,230 per couple for three nights in a beachfront room. The semi-inclusive three- night package with activities (no full meals) starts at $525 per couple.

Work-weary warriors can find respite at LeSport St. Lucia’s secluded resort on the northwest tip of the island. Oasis, the resort’s spa, offers stress management coaching and an extensive array of body treatments, such as Thalassotherapy, a body tonic that uses jet hose showers, seaweed wraps and algae bubble baths.
