Ty Ahmad-Taylor is a veteran and leader in entertainment. No, heâ€™s not a musician, dancer, or comedian. He is an expert in multimedia technology and one who keeps raising the bar on the innovative ways in which we are entertained.
Ahmad-Taylor is the CEO ofÂ http://www.THX.com/. The company was founded byÂ Star WarsÂ creator George Lucas in 1983. It developed the â€œTHXÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â high-fidelity standard for movies, speakers, video games and more. THX sound was featured inÂ The Return of the JediÂ movie.
A Trailblazer in Entertainment Technology
Appointed as CEO inÂ 2015, Ahmad-Taylor is described as a â€œtrailblazerÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã‚Â in the multimedia industry.
According toÂ Bloomberg, he has 25 yearsâ€™ experience in information design and most of those years spent in working with interactive television programs. He previously served as vice president of Smart TV Services at Samsung.
At Samsung, Ahmad-Taylor was the driving force behind the groups responsible for making interactive TV application and Over-the-Top content. Other roles heâ€™s held include senior director at Comcast; creative director at Excite@Home; and product lead manager at MTV.com, as well as several properties under MTVâ€™s umbrella including VH1 and CMT.
Heâ€™s also launched his own startups. In 2008, Ahmad-Taylor founded FanFeedr, a service which provided news, video, statistics and other data for sports fan. He sold the company to Samsung Electronics in October of 2012.

Under his helm, THX recently announcedÂ THX Live!Â From the press release on the announcement, this technology, is â€œa live-entertainment certification program in which THX engineers review the audio system configuration of top performers and look for opportunities for acoustic optimization.”
THX Live! debuted this year at Beyonceâ€™s Formation World Tour.
