Every year on April 29, millions of people around the world celebrate International Dance Day. International Dance Day, created by the International Dance Council, calls for dance companies, dance schools, organizations and individuals, professionals as well as amateurs, to organize an activity addressing an audience different from their usual one.

Thriller
After watching Thriller, a 14-minute-long mini horror movie, almost every kid around the globe wanted to copy Michael Jackson’s iconic dance moves. Â This epic video set a groundbreaking precedent of taking mainstream video production to new heights with short films.

Stomp The Yard
Along with star-studded features from Ne-Yo and Chris Brown, the drama and dance film follows a Los Angeles street dancer’s pursuit of a better life.  When the young dancer attends a historically black university he attracts the attention of two competing fraternities who challenge his efforts to stay out of trouble and focus on school.  The movie also captured the essence of “stepping” as an art form.
You Got Served
A 2004 drama about two friends, Omarion and Marques Houston, competing in a local dance contest, to achieve their dream of opening a recording studio. The fierce competition pits them a tough group of street dancers. Hip-hop artist, Lil Kim and comedian Steve Harvey also appeared in this film.
Fame
A remake of the 1980 musical television series, which centers on students of
the New York Academy of Performing Arts. “You want fame? Well, fame costs.
