Colin Kaepernick Showers Oakland’s Homeless Community with Gifts on His 32nd Birthday

There are a million ways that Colin Kaepernick could have celebrated his 32nd birthday, but, in true Kaepernick fashion; he chose to feed the homeless community in Oakland, California’s “Tent City” and gift them with toiletries inside of backpacks. Yesterday, TMZ initially reported that the former San Francisco 49er quarterback and his girlfriend, Nessa Diab, were giving back in partnership with his foundation, Know Your Rights Camp on Sunday, Nov. 3.

Kaepernick is the gift that keeps on giving! And this is not the first self-less birthday celebration he has thrown. In 2016, he and his Know Your Rights Foundation team launched the Know Your Rights Camp on his 29th

birthday.

Ever since Kaepernick took a knee, he has invested in transforming communities around the nation. From the Bay Area to Harlem and back; Kaepernick has left a lasting impact on those who are in support of his journey from athlete to activist.

In 2016, Kaepernick made headlines when he pledged $100,000 a month for 10 months to organizations that helped fight racial inequality. And in 2018, with the help of celebrity friends like Serena Williams and T.I., he made good on his commitment, raising $1 million to charitable organizations serving marginalized communities.

Time and time again, Kaepernick shows the world what he is made of. And while there have been reports that he is still training for the league, it is fair to say that his impact off the field is what people are tuned into.

Happy belated birthday, Kaepernick!
