Entrepreneur Erica Dias Reimagines Networking During COVID-19

Several words come to mind when thinking about everything going on in the world: unpredictable, hurtful, sad, death, and fear, just to name a few. However, serial entrepreneur, visionary, and creator of Table of 20, Erica Dias is working to bring back the joy in people’s life.

Table of 20 is a unique and intimate networking experience that brings together special guests to connect with people from various cities with diverse career backgrounds. This was Dias’s 38th time hosting this event, however, due to COVID-19, her tour came to a halt.

“I had to readjust my approach to networking,” says Dias. “Safety is the No. 1 priority so I had to develop a plan to safely organize this event.”

Networking in the traditional sense is a face-to-face interaction

. COVID-19 has undoubtedly changed the way traditional networking takes place. Dias explains, “Once parameters around COVID-19 were put into place and restrictions were lifted, I decided to move forward. My goal was to safely bring people together to create a much needed shared sense of goal searching, idea mapping, and networking.”

Guests were required to take a COVID-19 test, wear masks, and practice social distancing through the networking experience.

Dias’s theme for this particular event was to celebrate “The Culture.” Guest arrived wearing clothing that represented better days ahead, and were given “Dream Jars.” Guests were asked to write their thoughts inside the jar and let the universe manifest.

“Everyone had an amazing time networking,” exclaims Dias. “Guest left feeling motivated, celebrated, and worthy of success in an intimate setting.”

Attendees included Dr. Contessa Metcalfe from Married to Medicine ATL, Married to Medicine LA’s

Dr.Kendra Segura, Destiny Payton-Williams from Love & Marriage Huntsville, and Bring It On’s, Dianna Williams.

“As we continue to navigate the new normal it is critical that we rediscover meaningful connections that will challenge us and elevate our mindsets. Connecting with like-minded individuals that create mutually beneficial opportunities will never be a thing of the past. We just may have to do it a bit differently.”
