After going through a separation, Nick Cannon and ViacomCBS are back together!
According to Variety, after making amends for the anti-Semitic remarks he made last summer on his podcast, causing the corporation to cut ties with the entertainer, Cannon and ViacomCBS are working together again.
“Nick has not only apologized and taken responsibility for his comments, but he has also worked to educate himself and others through engagement with Jewish leaders and on his platforms,” an MTV Entertainment Group spokesperson told Variety.
“Those efforts are of the utmost importance and that’s why we have invited him to rejoin our team. On a separate note, we just learned that he tested positive for COVID and have reached out to wish him a speedy recovery.”
That means that existing episodes of Wild ‘N Out are returning to VH1’s schedule this week, and production on new episodes is expected to resume.

he talented entertainer has been meeting and engaging with Jewish leaders, and BLACK ENTERPRISE just reported that he is part of a coalition of Black and Jewish industry professionals called the Black-Jewish Entertainment Alliance. The Alliance is a joint initiative by Black and Jewish entertainment industry professionals devoted to countering racism and anti-Semitism in the entertainment community.This news comes on the heels of an announcement that the syndicated Nick Cannon talk show that was initially set to debut in the fall of 2020 will be making its premiere in the fall of 2021.
After controversial statements made last year while interviewing former Public Enemy member Richard “Professor Griff” Griffin
on his podcast, Cannon’s show had been put on the back burner.Back in July 2020, Cannon had been heavily criticized for statements he made during the June 30 episode of his podcast, Cannon’s Class.
The discussion between Cannon and Professor Griff was immersed in what had been described as “anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and anti-Jewish rhetoric.” Professor Griff was kicked out of Public Enemy in 1989, because he was accused of making anti-Semitic comments during an interview with the
Washington Post.Cannon said in the interview that “it’s never hate speech; you can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people. When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright.” He also stated that “we are the true Hebrews.”
At that point, ViacomCBS had chosen to terminate Cannon after the entertainer was blasted for those comments, but after apologizing and making amends, he has revived his relationship with ViacomCBS.
