Poet Amanda Gorman Signed Historic Deal With Estée Lauder As Newest Brand Ambassador

Estée Lauder announced a partnership with the country’s first-ever National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman on Thursday (September 2). The 23-year-old signed a three-year partnership with the beauty brand, representing the first integrated deal by Estée Lauder and The Estée Lauder Companies to celebrate the next generation of leaders.

Gorman will represent Estée Lauder as the first Global Changemaker. She will appear in the company’s brand campaigns debuting in Spring 2020.

“I am so proud to announce my partnership with one of the most iconic beauty brands in the world @esteelauder to bring a new voice to beauty as their first-ever Global Changemaker,” Gordon shared on Instagram. “I will also work with @esteelaudercompanies to inspire change, beginning with founding WRITING CHANGE, a new philanthropic initiative of The Estée Lauder Companies.”

The Estée Lauder Companies will contribute over $3 million to support literacy initiatives through Writing Change. This project is designed to “advance literacy as a pathway to equality, access, and social change.”

Amanda Gorman Inks Deal With Estée Lauder

Although this is Gorman’s first multi-year partnership contract with a publicly-traded company, she isn’t new to the world of brand deals.

Following Amanda Gorman’s rise to stardom at U.S. President Joe Biden’s inauguration, the endorsement contracts started piling up. The 23-year-old signed a contract with IMG Models

but turned down $17 million in advertising deals.

“I didn’t really look at the details because if you see something and it says a million dollars, you’re going to rationalize why that makes sense,” Gorman told Vogue after turning down a major deal. “I have to be conscious of taking commissions that speak to me.”

The Harvard grad has confirmed that she’s looking forward to her new opportunity with Estée Lauder.

“Together we will advance equality and social impact through supporting literacy globally,” Gorman shared on social media. “I can’t wait for us to get started!”
