The event featured a marketplace

Participating brands include Anima Iris, BeEyeConic, Brooklyn Tea, ELTSUH, GLDN HAUS, Jam + Rico, Jorja Zee, Maya Winston, Never Settle, OUI the People, Style Eyes Optical, TERRA-TORY Skincare, and The Sable Collective.

Shopify hosted a founders’ workshop that provided business owners with information and resources focused on business growth and scaling operations.

The evening portion of the event included Brilliance in Motion, a panel discussion examining the opportunities and challenges of building and sustaining a business in today’s entrepreneurial landscape. Programming concluded with a networking mixer for founders, entrepreneurs, and attendees.

According to She Did That., the organization has spent the past decade highlighting Black women entrepreneurs through documentary filmmaking, storytelling, curated shopping experiences, and educational programming.

Organizers said the collaboration with Shopify is intended to increase visibility for Black women-owned businesses while connecting founders with consumers and fellow entrepreneurs during Black Business Month.

Black Business Month is observed annually in August to recognize and support Black-owned businesses and their contributions to local economies and communities.
