Boutique Owner Has Success With QVC-Like, ‘Sparkle’ Parties on Facebook

Virginia-based boutique owner Charis Jones says she has brought in over $1 million in sales in just seven months with the power of the internet, an app, and her QVC-like ‘Sparkle parties’ on Facebook.

In June, she launched her brick-and-mortar boutique store, Sassy Jones Boutique, in Richmond, Virginia. Since then, she’s using technology to scale her business, which not only sells clothing but jaw-dropping, unique accessories that has much of her Sassy community logging in every Wednesday to spend and splurge. According to Jones, those sales, and her QVC-style Sparkle parties, where thousands of women show up, makes the business approximately $10,000 every Wednesday.

On July 11, Jones put on a Sparkle party for her Sassy Jones Boutique collection. “That night, we hit the million mark and it did not feel like work. I gave that

sparkle party my all. We only needed $26 to meet our goal. On 7/11 at midnight, an order for exactly $26 came in and the order number was the zip code of where I grew up in 23703. I sat there and sobbed when we hit it. It happened, we had become a million-dollar business,” said Jones.

Sassy Jones Boutique’s inventory consists of everything from earrings to bracelets, handbags

, and much more, all customized, unique, and stylized. The boutique has also expanded its glamorous repertoire by introducing an ultra-luxurious mosaic handbag collection under $100. In addition, Jones has the Sassy Jones Secret Society boasting over 171 members (women who have spent over $750) and over
80K combined fans and followers, on social media.

“I remember getting an email from a customer who told me she had cancer and that she wears her Sassy Jones during chemo to help her feel beautiful. This is one of the reasons I do this. We are changing lives and helping women feel more confident,” confided Jones.
