We all seek comfort. It is a human necessity. From wanting a warm and cozy bed to fresh water, we actively pursue having a long life, full of education and a decent standard of living.

According to the Human Development Index by the United Nations Development Programme, places like Niger and Mozambique are some of the worst places for a human being to live. Combining factors such as a country’s income, their life expectancy and years of combined school, the U.N. created a ranking system to highlight the standard of living.

Out of all the world’s most livable countries, the top five are places we believe that comfort seekers will embrace and enjoy if given the opportunity to call the place home. North America

Noted as being the world’s biggest economy, the United State produces nearly $16 trillion worth of GDP. Average citizens who are born here live 78.9 years (36th highest) and clocks in a gross national income per capita. Unfortunately, for those looking for an exuberant measure of income equality, America ranks worse than that of other most livable countries. The United States does offer some of the world’s best opportunities in education, business, science, and the arts. It’s nice resources in the West and Midwest make this one of the most beautifulest places to ever live in.

Netherlands

One of the most level-headed places for gender equality, Netherlands boasts the 17th highest gross national income per capita. With newborn residents eking out a whopping 81 years on Earth, the Netherlands is measured in a positive stature. Add to it the fact that female representation in parliament is high and one can rest easy knowing that they won’t have to be inundated with talk of war or other types of fear mongering.

Switzerland

The third highest locale for newborns at birth, Switzerland is a blissful place full of vistas and snowy valleys. The country places in the top 10 for gross

national income per capita with $53,762 and features less than two teen pregnancies per 1,000 people, which was reported in 2010. The only downside to those interested in moving here to stay, Switzerland, which is not part of the European Union, approves quotas and controls immigration.

Australia

Beautiful and full of culture, Australia is one of the most enriched places on God’s green Earth. For those looking to settle down and have a family, it is the fourth best place in the world to have a child (82.5 years life expectancy at birth). Although Norway is boasting a 5 million people population, it is rich in oil, commerce, and culture — ripe for any likeminded individual or family. With a country so wealthy, there are perks for those later-on in years who are looking to retire — such as full pension at retirement.
