According to People, while on the witness stand in a Manhattan federal courtroom, Cassie testified that she was looking forward to a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience of seeing Prince perform at his house. But Diddy’s presence forced her to flee the premises once she arrived.

She explained that she was having dinner with friends when the chance to see the Purple Rain artist arose. She said she did not want to let Diddy know she was going because she feared “he would say no.”

After arriving at Prince’s home, she noticed some BET executives and saw Diddy

. When she knew he was there, she realized that he saw her and was not happy with her.

“I caught a glimpse of him, left the party, and ran out as fast as I could,” she testified. “I knew he was angry at me.” His facial expressions revealed his anger, “and then he came after me.”

Cassie testified that she fell into the bushes outside Prince’s house while running away.

She made it back to the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she was staying, and said that the No Way Out recording artist burst into her hotel room.

“We went into the bedroom and he beat me up,” Cassie said. “He threw luggage at me, calling me all kinds of names.”

Diddy is on trial after being charged with five criminal counts of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. If the music executive is convicted, he could face a life sentence.
