Achieving such feats, however, can prove difficult as a lot of money and resources are required. Fortunately, there are organizations available specifically for social entrepreneurs who need help making change. Check out these funding sources specifically for the peacemakers of the world, and meet us at the Entrepreneurs Summit May 13-16 in Atlanta for more insight on maximizing your initiatives.

Ashoka

Ashoka is the largest network of

social entrepreneurs worldwide, with nearly 3,000 Ashoka Fellows in 70 countries. To become an Ashoka Fellow, you must undergo a rigorous search and selection process and meet Ashoka’s selection criteria. Upon selection, all Fellows agree to abide by the Conditions of Association with the organization and gain lifetime support through the world’s leading network of social entrepreneurs. Ashoka helps fund that network investment through stipends that offers Fellows the financial flexibility to fully dedicate themselves to their world changing initiatives.

Global Giving

GlobalGiving is

fueled by innovative grassroots projects that are working to change the world. It gives social entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations all around the world opportunities to raise funds for their good works. Since 2002, GlobalGiving has raised $170,882,429 from 430,987 donors who have supported 11,981 projects. Interested social entrepreneurs must complete an application process and provide necessary documentation. Organizations that successfully complete the application process will be invited to participate in one of GlobalGiving’s Open Challenges, during which organizations have 4 weeks to raise $5,000 from 40 donors. Open Challenge participants that successfully raise the funds are invited to become long-term members of the GlobalGiving community.
