Founded by Christopher J. Williams in 1994, The Williams Capital Group L.P. is the largest black-owned boutique investment firm in New York. The Williams Capital Group is the parent company of the New York-based Williams Capital Management.
The firm specializes in financial services underwriting, trading and distribution in equity and fixed-income markets. The New York City-based firm’s diverse clientele includes corporations, U.S. government agencies, state and local governments, and institutional investors. The firm was involved in over $200 billion of underwritings in the debt and equity capital markets in 2008.
In April 2009, the company acquired 100% of the institutional assets and majority interest of Nutmeg Securities LLC, a 22-year old Connecticut-based broker dealer.
