These 5 Successful Celebrities Recently Ventured to College


Even celebrities that seem to have it all can’t deny the importance of higher education as a potential vehicle from one level of success to another.

Many celebrities are taking advantage of what a higher education has to offer as they embark on new ventures in their careers or they simply desire to know more and are utilizing college as a means to obtain that knowledge.

Below are a few celebs who have decided to take a seat in the college classroom.

Nick Cannon

Cannon recently announced that he is a new freshman at HBCU Howard University where he is looking to be a 2020 graduate. “YOU KNOW!!!!! #HU2020 My First Day as a Freshman!!! Howard University Class of 2020,” he captioned in a recent Instagram post where he’s standing next to a Howard University sign. Looking forward to seeing how college will impact his already impressive business and artistic résumés.

Swizz Beatz

In 2014, Beatz was accepted and enrolled into Harvard Business School’s nine-week Owner/President Management Extension Program focusing on maximizing financial resources, aligning strategies, and sales among other business skills.

Venus Williams

Williams earned a bachelor’s of science in business administration from Indiana University where she was enrolled in the university’s online degree completion program back in 2011. She also earned an associate’s degree in fashion design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 2007.

Raven-Symone

In 2013, Symone enrolled in that Academy of Art University – California where she set out to study all things artistic including figure drawing, sculpting, design, and printmaking.

Tyra Banks

Banks is joining college on the teaching end where she will be co-teaching 25 M.B.A. students in a course on creating and maintaining a personal brand at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. In 2011, Banks took her seat in the classroom at Harvard Business School where she was enrolled in an executive education program.
