Texas-based oil and natural gas company, Hilcorp, has agreed to give all 1,380 of its employees a Christmas gift they will never forget.
Local news outlet KTVU reports that Hilcorp will be awarding its employees, regardless of their position, a $100,000 Christmas bonus.
“It’s just a true gift and I don’t think that myself along with everyone is not going to give less than 100% every day” said employee Amanda Thompson.
Thompson, who is a receptionist for the company, makes note that this isn’t the first time that Hilcorp has shown how much they appreciate their employees. In 2010, when the company met a 5-year goal, they gave all of their employees a choice between either a $50,000 car or $35,000 in cash.
Hilcorp, which was founded in 1989, is one of the largest privately-held oil and natural gas exploration and production companies in the U.S. This year, the company ranked #36 on Fortune’s ‘100 Best Workplaces for Millennials’ and #20 on Fortune’s ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ list. To add to its diversity efforts, the company hosts monthly diversity luncheons where representatives from other companies speak about programs that build a stronger community.
In addition to offering cash bonuses, the company also offers a college tuition reimbursement program to employees and 10 paid days of holiday leave.
