Chicago’s Teachers Strike Comes To An End

Representatives of the Chicago’s Teachers Union voted to end the strike yesterday coming to a compromise for a three year contract with Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Students will begin school Wednesday morning after a period of  7 consecutive days outside of the classroom.

Chicago is the 3rd largest school district in the country and the strike displaced more than 350,000 students from Kindergarden to High School. The strike was the first in 25 years and many are relieved that it is over.
