“From a humanitarian perspective, he went beyond the legal ramifications; he was about restoring the whole person,” says Addison-Will. “We knew he was our attorney, but we felt like we lost our good friend.” Harvard University law professor Charles Ogletree described Cochran’s death as “an incalculable loss to America.” Thankfully, his life was a priceless gift to civil rights.
