Deadline Approaching – If You’re a Youth Making a Difference in Your Community!

If you’re a middle or high school student making a difference in your community, you have until Nov. 7 to answer the 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards call for entries.

Sponsored in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the awards have been called the nation’s largest youth volunteer recognition program.

Recognizing a diverse group of student volunteers—the photos here represent some of last year’s winners; Harmonie Frederick was a National winner—each year the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards engages a distinguished panel of judges to select the student winners. Judges include representatives from the nation’s leading service and education organizations.

Winners are awarded a gold medallion a crystal trophy for their nominating organization, a $5,000 Prudential Foundation grant for a charitable organization of their choosing—as well as a $5,000 cash prize.

Last year out of 33,000 participants 102 State Honorees were named—two from each state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
