than 12 gallons of water per shower and cut your water bill by as much as 44%.

Buy CFL light bulbs. Switching to compact fluorescent bulbs can save about $30 in electricity costs over the lifetime of each bulb. One 13-watt CFL will last more than a year and use 130 kilowatts of energy. That’s 75% less energy than an equivalent 60-watt incandescent bulb, which lasts only a month and uses 526 kilowatts of energy. CFLs cost more–approximately $3.50 per bulb as opposed to 50 cents for one incandescent bulb–but the cost and energy savings is worth it.
