When it comes to job seeking, the more resources you tap into, the better chance of success. In today’s competitive and fast-paced market, job candidates can no longer rely on just sending out or posting their resume and waiting for employers to bite. Sometimes it takes a multifaceted strategy of tapping into your network, taking informational meetings or even hiring a head hunter to find the best opportunities for you.

Career coach and recruitment veteran Rich Jones offers tips on just how to maximize head hunting so you can get the job of your dreams.

1.) Hiring managers are busy people. Sometimes they need outside recruiters to so that they can focus on running their business and not reading a ton of resumes.

Depending on the size of the organization or criticalness of the need, they may not have the time to comb through hundreds of resumes or wait for good applicants to roll in. An in-house job search could last for three to six months if not more depending on the role.
