Health Remains High On Our Wealth Agenda

Medicine in Washington, D.C., and the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles. (Somehow, earning degrees from four top-notch medical schools wasn’t as difficult as I expected!) Although black students are excelling at prestigious medical schools that their predecessors were barred from attending not so long ago, these four historically black medical schools have produced the vast majority of America’s black doctors, and they continue to do so today.

The legacy shared by graduates of these schools, also championed by the National Medical Association, the professional association of black medical professionals, is a serious commitment to addressing healthcare

disparities and lack of access in the communities that need it most. The nation’s leading black doctors remain a critical part of the solution to the healthcare crisis facing not just black Americans but our entire nation. And protecting and improving our health will always be a top priority on BE’s wealth-building agenda.
