Fashion Week hit New York for another  season and  Harlem’s Fashion Row, a social enterprise that gives voice for designers of color through a creative platform, was at the forefront, offering dynamic events that highlight the nuts and bolts behind the catwalk.

On Sept. 5, Harlem’s Fashion Row hosted a “Fashion and Finance” luncheon, sponsored by Prudential, in New York City. Featured speakers were Teri Agins, journalist and author of Hijacking the Runway: How Celebrities Are Stealing the Spotlight from Fashion Designers; award-winning designer Byron Lars, who’s fashions are sold at Anthropology and Bergdorf Goodman, among other retailers; Kimberly Goldson, a Project Runway, season 9, finalist designer; magazine vet Harriet Cole; and ShirleyAnn M. Robertson, CLTC, of Prudential. Each guest gave tips on how fashion designers can hone their crafts along with expand their business empires. Check out highlights from this event below:
