A few years ago, Spike Lee and Tyler Perry had a very public disagreement regarding the films they create. Lee had some harsh words to say about Perry’s shows such as “Meet the Browns” and “House of Payne,” calling them “coonery and buffoonery”.
Perry responded with varying comments such as “It’s attitudes like [Lee's] that make Hollywood think that these people do not exist and that’s why there’s no material speaking to them.”
Since then, attitudes have changed and in Spike Lee’s visit to “Oprah’s Next Chapter” he expressed his love for Perry and said that they may one day work together.
