Magic Johnson Donates $1 Million to Support Chicago Teachers

Former NBA superstar turned business mogul, Magic Johnson continues to show his dedication to improving the future of today’s youth.

At a fundraising gala in Chicago on May 5th for the nonprofit OneGoal, Johnson donated $1 million to the organization which helps to identify, train and support the nation’s most effective teachers.

With the goal to improve the number of low-income students who graduate both high school and college, OneGoal connects some of the nation’s best teachers with students in underperforming high schools to help them reach their full potential. At the gala, Johnson joined the organization’s national board and was honored for being a long-time supporter. It was during the event where he announced his surprise $1 million donation.
