I’m not saying you have to be married to be successful in business, but I often wonder how people achieve such success without spouses who are fully engaged in all aspects of their lives. This is just one of the reasons why we highlight and celebrate black families–on the pages of black enterprise, on our television shows, and at our national business networking events–more than any other media company. In the past five years alone, more than a dozen black families have graced the cover of be. No other national magazine comes even close to that number.
The mission of be is to help black Americans establish multigenerational wealth. This cannot be achieved by focusing on business deals, career opportunities, and investment strategies alone–the health and vitality of each and every one of our families is a critical part of that mission. It is with that in mind that, on behalf of my beloved wife, Barbara, the entire Graves family, and all of the employees of BE, I wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a healthy, wealthy New Year.
