Founded by R. Donahue Peebles in 1987, The Peebles Corp. is one of the nation’s the largest black-owned real estate development firms. Since its inception, the company has built a $4 billion portfolio of commercial properties, luxury hotels, and residential properties in Las Vegas, Miami Beach, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.

Peebles’ portfolio includes The Royal Palm Hotel on South Beach, Las Palmas Hotel & Residences in Las Vegas, and the Courtyard by Marriott Convention Center in Washington, D.C. among others.  In 2008, the Coral-Gables, Florida-based company earned $51.4 million in revenues—down 79% from last year.
