Harlem Woman Claims She Got Herpes from Rihanna’s MAC Lipstick

A Harlem woman claims in a lawsuit that she got herpes at a Rihanna concert in Brooklyn from sampling RiRi Woo lipstick.

28-year-old Starkeema Greenidge says she contracted herpes when a representative of MAC Cosmetics applied a used tube of RiRi Woo to her lips, and says she hopes the lawsuit will force the company to be more sanitary in the future. She said the company should train its employees to use disposable tubes or swabs to apply the lipstick.

The suit contends that MAC “should have known . . . it was unsanitary and exposing patrons to possible spread of disease.”

Two days after having the lipstick applied, Greenidge says she developed a cold sore on her lip that her doctor diagnosed as herpes; and claims she wasn’t able to work for two weeks; and the herpes has caused her “mental anguish and emotional distress.”
