Malia Obama Spotted Interning on Set of HBO’s ‘Girls’

Despite being just 17-years-old, Malia Obama is proving that she’s ready to get her feet wet in the working world.

Last week, the oldest First Daughter was spotted in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York working with Lena Dunham and delivering coffee for the cast and crew of HBO’s hit series Girls.

“She’s a fan and she mentioned that to Lena [Dunham] when she came to the White House,” a source close to the production team told Us Weekly. “I’m not sure how long she will be interning for. It’s a bit of a trial thing for her. They’ve known each other and discussed for a while. Lena and her get along great.”

This isn’t the first time the high schooler was spotted working behind-the-scenes of a production set. Last year, the teen got her first foray into the entertainment industry as a production assistant for Halle Berry’s CBS show Extant.

A source close to Us Weekly also revealed that the First Daughter has landed an internship at a fashion house, but there’s no specific word on where.

This upcoming school year, Malia will enter her senior year at the private Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC. While there is no confirmation on where the teen will attend college, she’s been spotted on college tours at New York University, Columbia University, Stanford University and the University of California at Berkeley.
