New Study Shows Racial Pride Enhances Learning

Teaching kids to be proud of their race may have beneficial effects on their G.P.A.

New research published in the Journal of Child Development says that when children are instilled with racial pride it helps them to perform better academically.

The study, conducted by Ming-Te Wang and James P. Hughley of the University of Pittsburgh and Harvard University respectively, found that it is important to teach kids about their culture and involve them in activities that promote racial pride.

The study surveyed 630 adolescents from middle class backgrounds and explored how racial pride affects  G.P.A., educational goals, and aspirations.
