Starbucks CEO Says ‘Sell Your Stock’ if You’re Anti- Gay Marriage

Some people have chosen to boycott Starbucks because of its strong stance in favor of gay marriage, but CEO Howard Schultz said in an interview with NPR, that he’s not concerned.

Shareholder Tom Strobhar said to CEO Schultz during the interview:

“In the first fill quarter after this boycott was announced, our sales and our earrings -…were a bit disappointing,”

To which the Starbucks CEO responded:

“If you feel, respectfully, that you can get a higher return than the 38 percent you got last year, it’s a free country. You can sell your shares of Starbucks and buy shares in another company. Thank you very much.”
