President Obama’s Approval Rating Drops Seven Points

President Barack Obama’s approval rating dropped 7 points in two weeks, according to a new poll by Reuters.

The online poll released on Wednesday showed that only 43 percent of respondents approve of the president’s job performance less than two months since he’s entered his second term.

Obama’s approval rating plunge seems to point to many Americans’ frustration with Washington over the recent sequestration, which put in place mandatory federal spending in many important assistance programs for the poor like food stamps and public housing.

Based on poll results surrounding the economy and the sequester, most Americans blame Obama and Democrats just as much as they blame Republicans for failing to come to a spending deal that could have avoided the $85 billion-dollar budget cut.
