President Obama Approval Rating Reaches Three-Year High


It appears the Obama effect continues to prevail, according to a new Bloomberg poll. Despite a battle with Republicans over the looming sequestration cuts, a still sluggish economy, and criticism surrounding his war policies, President Barack Obama’s approval rating reached its highest level in three years.

A Bloomberg National poll found that 55 percent of Americans polled had a positive outlook on the president’s overall performance–his highest rating since September 2009. The poll also found that 49 percent of respondents believe Obama’s proposals to increase government spending in key areas are more likely to spur job creation compared to Republican proposals to cut spending and taxes.

The poll surveyed 1,003 adults between February 15 and February 18, with a three percent margin of error.
