Las Vegas

Long gone are the days when a Sin City vacation was just for adults. Nowadays, Las Vegas provides the perfect blend of activities for singles, couples, and families. From taking the kids to see the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur, a medieval themed theater event, to hanging out poolside at the Wet Republic at the MGM Grand, a 53,000-square-foot pool with underwater speakers, party cabanas, and VIP bungalows.

Lake Placid, New York

Believe it or not, March to mid-April is one of the best times to hit the slopes. With longer daylight hours, softer snow, and even shorter lines at Whiteface Mountain, it’s a perfect time for beginners and experts alike. Whiteface Mountain’s 86 trails, terrain parks, and 11 lifts including a gondola offer families the option of exploring the wintry terrain on cross-country skis or hitching a ride on a dog sled.

Beyond skiing, Whiteface Mountain also offers a Kids Kampus, nightlife activities, and a variety of Lake Placid restaurants.

Cancun, Mexico
Cancun, Mexico, remains an all-time favorite hot spot for students on spring break. Relax during the day on breathtaking beaches; take a day trip to Xel-Ha for snorkeling, hiking, and cliff jumping; then spend the evening barhopping at some of the best bars in Mexico–Coco Bongo Cancun, Cuncrawl, and Senor Frog’s Bar and Party Boat, to name a few. But families should take note—during March and April, Cancun attracts an influx of college students.

Florida

From Fort Lauderdale and Panama City to Orlando and South Beach, Florida boasts several spring break destinations for sun, fun, shopping, and surfing. In Panama City, many companies like Victoria’s Secret and the Banana Boat sponsor special events and hand out free goodies. If you need a break from the party hard contests and wild events, the Trip Advisor community recommends staying on the far east or west end.

Beyond the trendy clubs and crystal clear waters of South Beach you can experience Ocean Drive’s sidewalk cafes, specialty and designer boutiques, and art galleries. Sure, we all know Orlando for Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando, but this family-friendly city also offers a variety of fun for students. Check out Orlando’s list of activities for students like Universal’s Mardi Gras celebration.
