Uber For Business Allows Companies To Expense Travel

Uber is stepping up its competition game by announcing a plan that allows users to bill their companies directly for the service.

Described as Uber For Business, employers can create an account with the car service, and then subsequently invite employees to join. With co-workers, colleagues, and managers all aboard, the bosses will have access to an employee’s travel information.

To ensure that expenses are easy and malleable, Uber partnered with American Express and spend management company Concur Solutions. For Uber, this is a huge leap in advancing past competition and marking itself as the premiere car service market.

Add to the mix that Uber’s smartphone app allows users to order cars within minutes and has become available in more than 130 cities, and you have the makings of a billion-dollar company. CEO Travis Kalanick says revenue is doubling every six months, but it isn’t without a price. State regulators are attacking the car service company as they are urging Uber drivers to adhere to the same rules and regulations for traditional taxi and limo drivers.

All in all, Uber is making itself more accessible and available than hailing a regular cab.
