Get Paid: Swap Your MacBook Air For A Surface Pro 3

Last month, Microsoft unveiled its Surface Pro 3, the latest in its line of laptop-killing tablets. This iteration sought to replace both your laptop and tablet with the company pitching it as the only device you need for both work and play.

Of course, with Apple’s MacBook Air growing in popularity, the company is looking at ways to encourage adoption of its own tablet-laptop hybrid, and is offering a deal to get users to switch.

If you bring your MacBook Air into any of Microsoft’s brick-and-mortar stores, you’ll have the option of trading it in for up to $650 toward a Surface Pro 3, which starts at $799.

The new Surface tablet is lighter than Apple’s 11-inch MacBook Air, and comes with a pressure-sensitive smart pen that allows you to quickly write notes and upload them to the cloud automatically. It also has a high-resolution 12-inch display, larger than the iPad or 11-inch MacBook Air.

Microsoft recently made it easier for professionals to work with Office by unveiling its monthly Office subscription, Office 365, for as little as $6.99 per month. It gives you access to all Office applications as well as 1 terabyte of online storage in Microsoft’s cloud service OneDrive.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft’s specifically targeted Apple in their trade-in promotions. Last year the company’s target was the iPhone and iPad, and trading a recent iOS device netted you a minimum of $200 toward a Microsoft Surface or Windows Phone.

The deal is on until July 31, so you have a few weeks to decide whether you want to make the switch from Apple to Microsoft.
