Google Flight Explorer Tenatively Takes Off

Flight Explorer may save you some money next time you're booking a flight.

google flight explorerThough not officially announced by Google yet, last week the company made available Google Flight Explorer in beta. Google Flight Explorer is designed to help users find the cheapest flights possible online.

The application works in tandem with Google’s existing airline ticket reservation tool Google Flights.

When you visit the site, it detects your location and enters that city in the “from” search field. Destination suggestions are presented including photos of destination cities with a mouse-over graph showing airline ticket prices for two months. Clicking on a date takes you to the regular Google Flights service for a full list of airfares.

A Google spokesperson told Search Engine Land that “Flight Explorer is a an experimental feature of Flight search that allows users to explore flight destinations. The feature enables users to consider multiple destinations and multiple days at once, all using live prices, quickly.”
