President of DataGenetics Nick Berry unveiled a list of the top 20 most common PIN numbers in a recent blog post. The former rocket scientist examined 3.4 million PINs, uncovering “1234†as the most frequently used code.
Nearly 27% of ATM users employ one of the passwords from the top 20 list, according to an analysis noted on Mashable.
While there are 10,000 possible combinations of four digits, Berry asserts that 50% of bankers use just 426 codes.
