Preferred Companies for Teens: What the CIA, Walt Disney Co., & Apple Have in Common


The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), released findings from its Annual Career Survey, reflecting the preferences of high-achieving students in the areas of career choices, employers, workplace environment, technology, communications and educational goals. The survey reflects career choices and workplace preferences of more than 12,000 high school and college students and young professionals.

Respondents ranked their top three preferences from a list of more than 220 companies generated from Fortune’s “Top 100 Companies to Work For”; DiversityInc’s list of t”Top 50 Companies for Diversity”; select companies from “Fortune Global 500”; and write-in choices.

Health-related employers dominate top careers, and students chose STEM majors accordingly, with the top being medical and health-related fields, sciences, engineering/technology, business, and psychology.
