Insurance Coverage for Women with Pre-existing Conditions
As of 2014, insurance companies are no longer legally able to discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions under the Affordable Care Act. This largely benefits women, as before companies could deny coverage to women due to their pre-existing conditions, including pregnancy and cancer. Additionally, it is illegal for insurers to charge women higher premiums than they charge men.
