  1. Good Afternoon:
I enjoy the stories that you do on African American entrepreneurs, and African American businesses that a lot of people would not know about. I offer a story a story of an African American woman who was born in Memphis, TN and worked her way out of those streets to become a successful entrepreneur both in Chicago and Orlando. Her name is JoAnne McClandon CEO of The Compak Companies L.L.C. which is the manufacturer of the Celebration Cup which is a communion cup that contains both elements in one individual cup. She is a strong woman who once owned a nursing home and has built business after business not once failing in an opportunity. Furthermore, the Compak Companies L.L.C. though owned by Ms. McClandon it is ran by nothing but family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all motor the daily routine of the company. Ms. McClandon whom never went to college, managed to understand running her own business and making it successful passed her teaching on to her kids who passed it down to theirs thus establishing a family of entrepreneurs. All of her grandchildren have their college degrees two of which are currently attending prestigious universities to get their M.B.A. Her great grand children though young have expectations to one day become CEO of the family business. I believe this story is great for the American society especially the African American community. This story is one of faith, family and determination. Thank you
