President Obama to Meet with Financial Regulators

On his first day back after a week-long vacation, President Barack Obama is scheduled to meet with financial market regulators to discuss progress made in implementing the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform law passed in 2010 in response to the financial crisis, according to CNN.

According to the White House, the heads of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, U.S. Federal Reserve, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp, Federal Housing Finance Agency and the National Credit Union Administration are expected to attend.

Dodd-Frank made changes in the American financial regulatory environment that affect all federal financial regulatory agencies and almost every part of the nation’s financial services industry.
