In fact, a recent report from Center for Automotive Research predicted that 2.5 million jobs could be lost in 2009 and personal income would plummet by $275 billion over the course of three years. Now is the time for members of Congress to step up and assume a leadership role in the resuscitation of an industry critical to our nation’s financial viability and economic future.
