11. BMW of Sterling

Founded by Thomas A. Moorehead in 2001, BMW of Sterling is Virginia’s largest BMW dealership. The luxury car dealership has an inventory of more than $10 million in new and pre-owned vehicles. The auto dealer’s 2008 revenues were in excess of 135.4 million — up 7% from the previous year.

In February 2008, Moorehead acquired McDonough, Georgia-based Hank Aaron Toyota for $18 million. The dealership, renamed Toyota of McDonough, currently sells Toyota, Honda, Mercedes, Lexus, and BMW automobile brands.
