1. Prestige Automotive Group

Despite suffering a 22% revenue decline in 2008, Prestige Automotive Group takes top honors on the BE Auto Dealers list for the fifth consecutive year. The Detroit-based dealership group remains the nation’s largest minority-owned auto dealer with more than $646 million in revenues.

Founded in 1993, the multimillion-dollar dealership operates Prestige Chevrolet and Prestige Pontiac Buick GMC in Ypsilanti, Michigan; Mercedes-Benz of St. Clair Shores in St. Clair, Michigan; Courtesy Ford in Okemos, Michigan; and Saturn of Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Florida.

In 2004, Prestige became the first black-owned auto dealer to exceed $1 billion in revenues. The auto titan became the fourth company in the history of the BE 100s to break the billion-dollar barrier. For this recognition, BE named Prestige its Company of the Year in 2005.
