Bundle took a look at spending data calculated by the US government, using anonymous and aggregated spending transactions that were tracked from March 20120 to March 2011, to come up with the top 100 cities for shopaholic citizens in the US. Based on the data the national average for monthly clothes spending comes out to be $142.08. Here are the top 10 shopaholic cities in the US, ranked by the highest average monthly spending.
10. BAKERSFIELD, CA
Coming in at No. 10, residents in the West Coast city average a monthly spending of $201.50 on clothes, shoes and other fashion-related items.
9. AUSTIN, TX
Everything is big in Texas, including spending. Austin locals record an average monthly spending of $213 on clothes, shoes and other fashion-related wear.
8. SEATTLE, WA
Shoppers in Seattle have a whopping average monthly spending of $221.17 in clothes, shoes and fashion expenses.
7. SAN JOSE, CA
San Jose actually ties with Seattle in average monthly spending in clothes, shoes and fashion expenses, which works out to be $221.17.
