Legendary Journalist and Film Critic Roger Ebert Dead at 70
The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that legendary journalist and film critic Roger Ebert has died.
Ebert, 70, had a bout with cancer that was discovered after he underwent hip surgery last year.
Just a few days ago, Ebert wrote on his blog that he would be taking a break from writing film reviews as his cancer returned. He called it a “leave of presence.”
“It means I am not going away,†Ebert, 70, wrote in a blog post late Tuesday. “I’ll be able at last to do what I’ve always fantasized about doing: reviewing only the movies I want to review.â€
