I just finished watching this documentary. It is extremely powerful about how many African Americans were wrongfully convicted and sold by prisons to Steel, lumber, Coal and turpentine companies between the years of the Civil War and World War II.
I am in awe of the ignorance and greed that has fueled this country but I am also proud that I come from a lineage of people that never stopped fighting.
The thirteenth amendment sets the conditions for slavery and does not abolish slavery.

I’m angry that I missed this–please spread the word that the producers did a VERY poor job of publicizing this! I hope PBS will repeat it….
You can watch it online here: http://www.pbs.org/sban
REPLY;The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not only a web browser. Not just a game machine. Maybe at some point itll do better yet in those areas, but for now its a wonderful way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and it’s without peer in that regard. The iPods strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your most suitable choice.
c’est excellent et trop d’actualité. nous devons toujours dénoncer cet état de fait et promouvoir l’égalité et la justice entre les hommes
