Headhunters find and evaluate job candidates for the benefit of their clients. A good headhunter offers valuable information about the company he or she represents, the job opening, the manager and team, and the interviewing process. Most important, a headhunter needs to be trustworthy and able to coach you to nail the job. Some top headhunting companies include Korn/Ferry International (www.kornferry.com), Russell Reynolds Associates (www.russellreynolds.com), Witt/Kieffer (www.wittkieffer.com), Boyden World
(www.boyden.com), and Heidrick & Struggles International Inc. (www.heidrick.com). Each of these companies covers the health/science sector but make sure to research the companies to determine whether they fit your specific needs. Also, join the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (www.nobcche.org) to help build your professional network.
