Cops Try to Notify Mom About Son’s Death on Facebook

An Atlanta woman says she’s “furious” because police contacted  her on Facebook through a “fake” account to tell her about her son’s death in an automobile accident, CNN reports.

It took Anna Lamb-Creasey several weeks to find the message from Clayton County police telling her to call them. They apparently wanted to tell her about her son, 30-year-old Rickie Lamb dying in a car accident on January 24.

Lamb-Creasey says the message came from a Facebook account with the name “Misty Hancock” that featured an image of Atlanta rapper T.I. as its profile picture. She ignored the message because she didn’t think it was really the police.

Clayton County police claimed  they had tried reaching Lamb’s family in more conventional ways, including visiting several physical addresses, but were unsuccessful. Lamb-Creasey isn’t convinced.
