Obama decides not to appoint a car czar, instead he tapped Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and White House economic adviser Lawrence Summers to head a task force on revamping the U.S. auto industry.

The first family returned to Washington from a weekend in Chicago. The President spoke to Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Erdogan.
